VIKINGS
We developed period-authentic traditional artwork for Athelstan's journal in HBO's Vikings series. After extensive testing, we selected coarse mulberry paper, stained it, and ripped the edges to create an aged appearance. The artwork and font treatments underwent multiple revisions before the final illustrations and lettering were hand-drawn with a rough charcoal stick appropriate for the period. The pages were then bound and covered by the talented prop team.
